Tethered is a reflection on shared experience. For many musicians, making music is not simply an activity or a hobby, but a space where identities are shaped and life-long friendships are created. This percussion ensemble explores the concept that, though life eventually pulls us in different directions, we remain tethered to each other through the time we spent making music together. Rhythmic motives pass from player to player, sometimes locking in unison, and at other times splitting apart, representing the shared bond, and the branching paths we all embark on. Tethered ultimately celebrates the enduring bonds formed through music. Long after the final notes fade and paths separate, those who have played together remain connected.
